Significance of Father’s Given Name Missing

The baptism of a Johann Heinrich Krückeberg does not give the father’s given names are given. It says only "Krückeberg aus Berenbusch", which suggests there might only be one Krückeberg family in Berenbusch? While most records on the same page mention the father’s given name, at least one other baptsim record on the same page likewise only mentions the surname. There are records on the prior page where only the surname is mentioned, too.

Due to the poor quality of the text, it is unclear word precedes "Johann Heinrich". Is it the first of three given
names? It is might be benahmsen, with benahmsen likely just another form of benamsen, colloquial for benennen, "to name somebody or something after, or for".

  • The verb benahmset is apparently benamset, whose inifinitive is benennt meaing to name.

  • There are a few undecipherable words are written very small, raised above the line that begin before the word 'Sohn'
