Not only was Johann Tönnies Eggerding a baptismal sponsor for Johann Heinrich’s son, Johann Friedrich, he was also the former owner of the holding of no. 10 Berenbusch, which we know Johann Heinrich was living at by 1747 and perhaps earlier.

The secular document Namensverzeichnis sämtlicher Kolonen der Ämter Bückeburg und Arensburg, mit Nummerierung der sämtlichen Häuser ("List of names of all Kolons of the offices of Bückeburg and Arensburg, with numbering of the all houses") shows us that in 1747 Johann Heinrich Krückeberg was the holder of no. 10 Berenbusch and Johann Tönnies Eggerding was a prior holder.

This is mentioned page 17 of the volume. Apparently Friedrich Kuhlman had been the prior holder and Johann Tönnnis Eggerding the holder before him. We learn this from the answer of Johann Heinrich Krücekberg to question #1 at nla:2741:krueckeberg-answers.adoc.

Explanations

The father’s name appears to come first with the surname ending in "s". In contemporary German, an "s" after someone’s name, usually the first name, signifies the genitive case (possessive case); for example, Paul’s Car would be Pauls Auto. Translation literally word-for-word without changing the grammer yields:

7 July is Johann Heinrich Krückeberg’s little son Johann Friedrich baptized. Godfathers have been Johann Tönnies Eggerding und H Herman Wiese

Anno 1728 (Year 1728) appears at the top of on the prior page. Thus these baptism records continue on with those in 1728, and the Krückeberg son is the 18th baptism of 1728.
Unlike the other baptism entries where the date appears first, the date of 7 Julÿ is written above the father’s name, apparently the pastor forgot to start the entry with the date and had to insert it.
