Definitions of Map Terms
Term on Map	Explanation
Waldung	Woodland or forest land. The term was commonly used in older administrative and survey documents to designate an area covered with forest or belonging to the forest. It distinguishes wooded land from cultivated fields, gardens, or settlement areas.
Krückeberg Kamp vor der Söhre	“Krückeberg field before the Söhre.” Kamp means an enclosed cultivated field or plot of farmland. The phrase identifies a particular field belonging to Krückeberg that lies toward or adjacent to a place called Söhre, which is likely the local name of a nearby field, woodland, or geographic feature used as a point of orientation.
Weg	Road or path. On land survey maps the word marks a route used for travel or access and often forms the boundary between adjoining parcels of land.

10 zu Berenbusch und für die beiden Neubauer Anton Otto Voigt und Gottlieb
Brüggemann No 13 & 14 zu Nordholz verordneten und von uns mit Beysein des
Revierforstbedienten am 9t Mertz d: J. vollzogenen Ausweisungen,
überreichen wir anbeÿ die planimetrische Zeichnung, und wird, da dem
Neubauer Brüggemann Sub No. C. 101 der zu bezahlende Rutenpreiß à 1/2 Mg.
auf 6 g 5 p: Ruthe, und auf 12 g p Ruthe das übrige Grund und Boden
bestimmt ist, hiernach zu bezahlen haben.

To the Princely Chamber
Report of the Offices of Bückeburg and Arensburg
concerning
land assignment

Memorandum. From this report, from the following Chamber rescript, and from the
relevant purchase deeds, copies have been taken for the formation of files for the
settlement holdings (Nos. 13 and 14 in Nordholz) under the series Bauergüter &
Colonien in the Office of Bückeburg.

Concerning the land assignments ordered under the previously cited Chamber numbers
for Krückeberg No. 10 in Berenbusch and for the two new settlers Anton Otto Voigt
and Gottlieb Brüggemann, Nos. 13 and 14 in Nordholz, and carried out by us on
9 March of this year in the presence of the district forestry officer, we herewith
submit the survey drawing; and since for the new settler Brüggemann, under No. C.
101, the price per rod to be paid for one-half Morgen has been fixed at 6 Groschen
5 Pfennig per rod, and the remaining land at 12 Groschen per rod, payment is to be
made accordingly.

The dues are to be paid after the expiration of three free years, therefore no
later than Michaelmas 1822.
