Missing Original Church Register Entries for Bleekes
Background
Frille Kirchenbuchabschriften in Bückeburg
The Petzen and Frille Kirchenbücher are housed in the Bückeburg regional deparment of the Lower Saxony State Archives (Niedersächsiches Landesarchiv). Some volumes are also publically available on the Protestant church portal Archion (for a subscription); for example, Kirchenbücher for the Frille parish up to the year 1804 are available, and for Petzen up to the year 1827; however, Bückeberg has a more up-to-date collection of Kirchenbuchabschriften, transcribed church registers. While there are none for Petzen, there are several volumes of Frille Kirchenabschriften that extend well beyond 1804.
These Kirchenbuchabschriften likely contain the original confirmation and marriage records for Johann Heinrich Philipp Bleeke and his brother Carl Friedrich, as well as the original birth and baptism records for their children born in Germany, and the original confirmation records of those children confirmed before they emigrated to the United States. These transcribed church registers are no doubt also in contemporary German and not the old Kurrentschrift handwriting, making them much easier to read.
